Now Hiring: Business Office Coordinator

First United Presbyterian Church of Dale City (FUPCDC) is seeking a full-time Business Office Coordinator to support the daily administrative, communication, and financial operations of our busy and vibrant church office. This role is essential in helping our ministries run smoothly and ensuring that staff, members, and visitors experience the warm hospitality at the heart of our mission: Welcoming All, Growing Together, Serving with Joy!

About the Role

The Business Office Coordinator oversees the smooth and efficient functioning of the church office, working closely with the Pastor and Administration Ministry Team Leader. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing daily office operations, records, files, and databases

  • Greeting visitors and responding to calls and emails with professionalism and confidentiality

  • Preparing correspondence, bulletins, reports, worship materials, and newsletters

  • Producing and sending weekly Thursday News and Prayer Chain emails

  • Updating the church website, electronic sign, and online directories

  • Assisting with financial tasks such as processing bills, maintaining office-related expenses, and supporting annual Financial Review preparation

  • Coordinating the church calendar, building use requests, and vendor relationships

  • Supporting staff, Session, and Ministry Teams with clerical and administrative tasks

  • Maintaining membership rolls, attendance records, child protection files, and volunteer (“Time & Talent”) information

  • Directing office volunteers and coordinating office coverage

  • Attending occasional evening meetings when needed

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality

  • Experience in office administration or bookkeeping preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (PowerChurch Plus experience a plus)

  • Customer-service orientation and comfort working in a church environment

  • High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
