ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Adult Christian education at FUPCDC seeks to find ways in which both church members and our community can draw closer to God and each other through Bible study, Sunday school, lectures, small groups and retreats. As we interact in a community of caring, we continue to grow as a family of faith.

SUNDAY ADULT BIBLE STUDY

Join us on Sundays for the Bible study at 9:45 am in the Fellowship Hall. Contact Curt Hoagland for more information at choagieva@yahoo.com.

The current study is ACTS by N.T. Wright

PASTOR’S STUDY

Join us on Wednesday, April 3 at 7:00 PM as we start with an introduction to the UnClobber Bible Study.

The UnClobber Courses peel back the layers of misuse and misunderstanding about the Bible and homosexuality.

There are only six verses (aka, the Clobber Passages) in the Bible that have historically been used to justify discrimination against those who identify LGBTQ. Each UnClobber Mini-Course tackles one (or two) of those passages by exploring the passage's historical and textual context, and asking what (if anything) do they have to say about those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer.

Leader: Pastor Adam C. Bowling

HORIZONS BIBLE STUDY

The 2023-2024 Horizons Bible Study will begin on Monday, September 11. Our study this year is “Sacred Encounters: The Power and Presence of Jesus Christ in Luke-Acts.” We will together discover what these books of the Bible tell us about Jesus and his message for the church then and now. We meet at 9:30 – 11:00 AM in Room 22 from September through June. All are welcome; please join us in opening God's Word together. Contact Sara Porter at saraporter@comcast.net or 703-819-5044 for more details.
